In celebration of Black History Month, Nash Community College will host a panel discussion titled “Amplifying Voices” on February 26, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event will take place in the Brown Auditorium, located in the Business & Industry Center at 454 North Old Carriage Road, Rocky Mount, NC.
The panel will feature four distinguished local leaders who will share their personal stories and insights on the significance of Black History Month:
- Dr. Leondus Farrow, Assistant Superintendent of Student Support Services & Operations, Nash County Public Schools
- Angela Gailliard, Board of Trustee Member, Nash Community College
- Coach Michael Gainey, Athletic Director, Rocky Mount High School
- Pamela Gainey, Teacher/Coach, Nash County Public Schools
These community leaders will reflect on their journeys and discuss the impact of Black History Month on their lives and work. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees will also have the opportunity to win a gift card during the event.
“The college is excited to host this Black History Month program for students, employees and the community,” said Dr. Brown, vice president of student access and success at NCC. “Each panelist has greatly contributed to the local community and are established and respected leaders.”
