Nash Community College is pleased to announce the appointment of Carol Dornseif as the new Vice President, Finance/Chief Financial Officer (CFO), following the retirement of Adrienne Covington, who served the College for over a decade. Dornseif has been serving as the Interim CFO since Covington’s retirement and now officially takes on the role. Dornseif brings more than 35 years of experience in general accounting to her new role, having worked at the College since 2010.
“Throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to work across a range of accounting functions, and I’m excited to expand my knowledge and serve the College in this new capacity,” said Dornseif, who most recently served as Associate Vice President of Finance. “I’m thankful for the support of Dr. Hunnicutt, the Senior Leadership Team, and the many employees I work with every day. I look forward to continuing the College’s tradition of sound fiscal management and contributing to its ongoing success.”
As an experienced leader in the College’s financial management, Dornseif has a track record of overseeing critical functions such as the Business Office, Bookstore, Midway Café, Child Development Center, Switchboard, and Conference Center (Brown Auditorium). In her previous role as Associate Vice President of Finance, she worked to ensure the College’s operational efficiency and fiscal health.
Her deep connection to the College community is a point of pride. “I remember way back in the day being a student at Nash Community, learning from great teachers like Mr. Bob Davis (Accounting) and Mr. Pravin Shukla (Business),” said Dornseif. “They were so engaging, and I looked forward to going to class every day. After graduation, I felt prepared in my field and was eager to apply what I’d learned. Having the chance to return to Nash CC later in my career has been truly rewarding, and I would always recommend the community college as the #1 option for starting your higher education journey.”
Dornseif holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Barton College and an Associate Degree in Accounting from Nash Community College.
NCC President Dr. Lew K. Hunnicutt expressed his joy with Dornseif accepting the role, “It is hard to express how happy I was when Carol accepted the interim role. Her qualifications and experience have served NCC very well for years. When she accepted the offer to make the promotion permanent, it was definitely a big win for the college!”
