The Nash Community College Foundation has announced the establishment of the Junior Guild of Rocky Mount Scholarship Endowment, created with an initial gift of $100,000 in May 2025.
The endowment will provide annual scholarships to female students pursuing a degree at Nash Community College, with a focus on preparing recipients to use their education to serve and strengthen their communities.

In recognition of the gift, the Junior Guild of Rocky Mount has secured naming rights to the Nash Community College Library, which will be renamed the Junior Guild Library later this year.
“This type of community investment and forward thinking is inspiring and exactly what our community needs,” said Kari Young, executive director of the Nash Community College Foundation. “The Junior Guild of Rocky Mount’s generosity ensures female students have the opportunity to pursue their dreams while continuing the Guild’s mission of service and impact.”
Scholarship recipients will be selected based on academic achievement, financial need, residency in Nash or Edgecombe County, and a demonstrated commitment to community service. Applicants must also submit a personal essay and a letter of recommendation.
Funds will be invested to ensure long-term sustainability, guaranteeing scholarships will be awarded for generations to come.
The Junior Guild of Rocky Mount Scholarship Endowment and the Junior Guild Library will stand as a lasting tribute to the Guild’s legacy of community support and its dedication to improving lives in Rocky Mount and beyond.
